The Manufacturing Career Ambassador Program empowers Ohio’s manufacturers to bring real-world career stories directly into classrooms. Trained by workforce professionals and equipped with proven tools, Ambassadors help students see the future they could build in manufacturing – right here in Ohio.
This statewide initiative connects local manufacturers with schools to spark student interest in high-growth career pathways, while supporting educators with engaging, grade-appropriate presentations and activities. It’s a grassroots outreach effort, powered by professionals working on the frontlines of Ohio’s innovative manufacturing industry.
Why It Matters
Many students, educators and parents still think manufacturing means dark, dirty and sometimes dangerous work…and many have no perception of manufacturing at all. It’s not even on their radar. The Ambassador Program flips that narrative and portrays the industry in its modern, accurate light.

Our pilot partners
The pilot aims to demonstrate the power of manufacturers in the classroom through:

- 1,000+ students, parents and community members engaged
- 30+ hands-on activities and events delivered across 7 schools
This proof-of-concept is informing the continued expansion of the program across Ohio through the Ohio Manufacturers’ Association’s network of endorsed Industry Sector Partnerships (ISPs).
